A Recent Interview on No Compromise Radio — Expository Parenting Ministries

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to discuss the book and ministry with Pastor Mike Abendroth on his podcast/radio show No Compromise Radio. Over the course of a half hour, we briefly touched on my personal background, the background to writing the book Expository Parenting, and various parenting issues.

Pastor Mike has been a long time friend, and those who have read Expository Parenting will see his influence in my life as it has come through in the content of the book, not only in some of the footnote references, but also in the leading quote of the final chapter:

In an emotional moment, I think: when I'm on my deathbed and my kids are all gathered around, I hope they remember those days. I hope they remember those days where they had a sinful, frail, fallible dad, but that dad was pointing them to the Lord Jesus Christ who never compromised.[1]

His words represent the heart of a true shepherd, and I couldn’t have said it better myself—hence the reason I didn’t try! In light of that, if you’ve been helped by the principles set forth in Expository Parenting, rest assured that many of them have come courtesy of Pastor Mike. Thus, as you can imagine, it was a tremendous joy and privilege to be welcomed onto No Compromise Radio for an interview.
